Your Santa Barbara chapter of “America’s Boating Club” (formerly United States Power Squadrons) will be teaching a Marine Navigation course that provides the basic skills you need to plan and safely navigate your boat using traditional (dead reckoning, charts) and modern (GPS, electronic) methods.
Course Description: Marine Navigation is the first course in the sequence of America’s Boating Club’s courses on navigation, covering the basics of coastal and inland navigation. This course focuses on navigation as it is done on recreational boats today and embraces GPS as a primary navigation tool while covering enough of traditional techniques so the student will be able to find their way even if their GPS fails.
Schedule: Eight sessions, Tuesdays, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM; May 2 – June 20, 2023; Take home exam due June 27
Pricing: Member price: $75 per person Non-Member: $125 per person
Joining-Member: Member price + Additional* $102 for one or $152 for family membership

Classroom Sessions will be live on-line using ZOOM for students that cannot attend a Session(s).
